First Half “DSANJ Bio Conference” FY2026

Call for Applications from Researchers

The Drug Seeds Alliance Network Japan (DSANJ) provides opportunities for academia and startups in Japan and around the world to meet with pharma companies. As part of the program, the DSANJ Bio Conference is now recruiting researchers from universities, research institutions and startups who are seeking collaboration with pharma companies. At the DSANJ Bio Conference, we will arrange 40-minute one-on-one Zoom meetings between you and participating pharma companies.

Applications are accepted until June 9, 2026.

This is an opportunity to have meaningful discussions with pharma companies that are interested in your research and development. We warmly look forward to your participation!

First Half “DSANJ Bio Conference” FY2026: Overview

Purpose Promoting joint research, technology transfer and investment in drug discovery
Schedule 10:00–18:00 (JST) on Aug. 25, 26, 27, 31; Sep. 1, 2026
Program 1. Sharing Your Proposal Materials with Japan-based Pharma
  • We will provide DSANJ’s proprietary proposal template designed to capture the interest of pharma companies
    • 2. One-on-one Online Meetings with Japan-based Pharma (40mins. per meeting)
  • We will arrange online meetings with companies that request a meeting with you
  • The meetings enable in-depth discussion of your research and potential collaboration opportunities
Participants Approx. 100 researchers from universities, research institutions, startups, etc.
Approx. 40 pharma companies and other organizations
Fee Participation is free of charge, including in the event of a successful collaboration.

Application Requirements

Notes of application
    1. Make sure that your proposal materials do not include confidential information. The DSANJ Bio Conference organizing and operations bodies will not treat as confidential any information received for the event.
    2. Each researcher is limited to one proposal. If you would like to submit more than one proposal, please have another person (e.g., a co-researcher or someone else in your research group) present it.

*NB: We are eager to receive applications from startups and biotech companies.
Area of focus

  • Categories

    Drug targets; drug seeds (substances); platform technologies for drug discovery; biomarkers; diagnostic drugs and technologies; medical devices for use combination with drugs, etc. (i.e., excluding devices designed for use on their own)

  • Modalities

    Low-molecular drugs, antibody drugs, oligonucleotide therapeutics, gene therapy, recombinant protein, cell therapy, AI-powered drug discovery, vaccines, viruses, regenerative medicine, protein-protein interaction inhibitors, etc.

  • Target Disorders

    Metabolic disorders, circulatory disorders, infectious disorders, respiratory disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, cancer and malignant neoplasms, central nervous system disorders, pain, sensory organ disorders, immune system and inflammatory disorders, allergies, skin disorders, digestive and urinary disorders, ob-gyn disorders, rare disorders, etc.

  • Stage of Research Progress

    Basic research; non-clinical POC pending; non-clinical POC obtained, clinical trials pending; clinical trials underway, etc.
How to apply to participate To apply for DSANJ Bio Conference, follow these steps.

Important Notice
  • Your application will be considered complete only after you have finished all Steps 1 through 3.
  • After submitting your registration for Steps 1 and 3, you will receive confirmation email from the DSANJ Admin Office. If you do not receive the email, your registration may not have been completed successfully. In that case, please contact us at [contact@dsanj.jp] to check your application status.

  1. Step 1

    Please complete your registration on the “DSANJ Bio Conference Application Webpage.” Once registration is complete, you will receive an email titled “【DSANJ Bio Conference】Please Submit Your Materials”

  2. Step 2

    After completing Step 1, you will receive the email with instructions for preparing the required materials. Please download the prescribed form from the URL provided in the email and prepare the materials accordingly.

  3. Step 3

    Please upload the completed materials to the designated folder as stated in the email you receive after Step 1. Once the upload is complete, you will receive an email titled “[Application Completed] DSANJ Bio Conference.”
Notice of Meeting Schedules

We will notify whether pharma companies have requested meetings with you around August 7, 2026. If you get meeting requests, we will also inform you of the number and provisional schedules.
