Holding business matching sessions in succession with overseas companies 1) Feb.24: UK Smart Technology Seminar & business talks (Five (5) companies coming from the UK) Companies from the UK that provide the most advanced products, technologies, and solutions in such fields as environment and energy systems will come to Osaka, and hold presentations and individual business meetings aiming to form alliances with Japanese companies. UK companies with innovative engine technologies that utilize liquid nitrogen, technologies of low-temperature-working solid oxide fuel cells and so on, will make detailed presentations, and have business talks with Japanese companies interested in innovative technologies in the same field, which are expected to show continued development in the future. 2) Feb.24-27: The 6th Overseas Market Expansion event for products and materials Made in Japan (Five (5) buyer companies invited from Thailand) To support companies in Osaka to develop new overseas markets, the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold the 6th Overseas Market Expansion event for Products and Materials Made in Japan intended for business matching with small and medium-size enterprises on February 26 (Thu) by inviting Overseas Buyers to Osaka. This project is part of the Plan for Osaka Metropolis of Endless Visitors, for which the OCCI has made efforts, and provides opportunities for companies in Osaka for promoting high-quality Japanese products and technologies to emerging markets. This time, OCCI will invite five buyer companies, which seek Japanese industrial machines & products and components, from Thailand, a country still popular as a hub for ASEAN countries and as a place for Japanese companies to invest. Prearrangement will be made for those buyer companies with companies in Osaka that can offer articles (products) made in Japan, and are requested by those buyer companies for business talks in advance. On the day of the event, the Thai Trade Center, Osaka as well as specialists on business & trading with Thai companies will also support the business talks by setting consultation desks at the venue. 3) Mar.3-4: Kansai-U.S. Green Tech Forum (Three (3) companies invited from the U.S.) Inviting U.S companies with their unique technologies in the environmental and energy fields, OCCI will hold gKansai-U.S. Green Tech Forum.h Three American companies specializing in 1) technology to increase basic energy output amount by enhancing the output density of solar batteries using pyroelectricity technology, 2) protective packaging that can be completely composted at home, and 3) long-life LED illuminations and building management systems, will participate in this Forum. Each company will make a presentation regarding their own products and technologies, and have individual business talks with Japanese companies. The Forum will be held from 13:00 to 17:00, with no admission fees at City Plaza Osaka, adjacent to OCCI Building. Japanese-English simultaneous interpreters will be provided for presentations, and Japanese-English consecutive interpreters for individual business talks. ===================================================================== 2. Dispatched an economic delegation to Hong Kong & Shenzhen, concluded an official memorandum with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Chairman Shigetaka Sato of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited Hong Kong and Shenzhen from the 13th to 15th along with the chamber's Vice Chairman Junji Kojima and President and CEO Keiichi Ando of New Kansai International Airport Co,. Ltd. The party first visited the Head Office of Cathay Pacific Airways in Hong Kong, and met with Rupert Hogg, the next Chief Operating Officer (COO). The party expressed their gratitude for the company's effort to increase the number of its Kansai-Hong Kong flight services from 28 to 35 flights per week from February, and requested a further increase in the number of flights between Kansai and Hong Kong, two regions which are expected to further strengthen both of their business and tourism relationships. In addition, they also requested flight services for the route from Hong Kong via Kansai International Airport to North America. In response to those requests, Mr. Hogg said, gWe would like to consider the possibility of further increase in our flight services including ones for North America.h Furthermore, the party visited the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and had meetings with Deputy Executive Director Margaret Fong. After the exchange of views regarding invitation of MICE, they concluded an official memorandum for future specific business cooperation in order to further promote trade and economic cooperation between the two cities, Osaka and Hong Kong.
